The skylands once were a part of the land of Deflou Spero, over time though they have ripped away and took to the sky. The land itself is magic and often has a mind of its own so this is possible. Each bit of land is different, some are barren desserts, some are jungles, and others are beautiful water springs. The only way to get to these islands is by a creature of flight or the rebels can reach them with ease on their ship. They often hide out on them, but flee when the royal guards find them again. Each bit of land is different sizes, some are tiny, while others can be almost as big as Deflou Spero itself.
