Ezra looked down, silently studying the fabric that had wrapped around her body. To other woman it was known as a dress, but to the Knight it was more like a torture device. You see, some torture devices can make your limbs stretch until the break, or cramp you muscles until they produce terrible spasms. Dresses on woman are like flags that alert the public eye where your beauty hierarchy belongs, but it hides the truth of what you really are. If a lady wears a simple dress they don’t get notice, just fall behind as the rich colors, and fabrics of other woman’s dresses drown them. Then after that they go home feeling dominated, and inferior without anyone telling them that their dress was only fit for milking cows. For the woman who can afford those extravagant dresses they feel powerful, admired, beautiful…that’s only what they feel. Those woman have no power; a dress cannot stop a blade from bursting through their chest, and severing their beating heart. They may be admired, but only to wanting woman, for if those ladies are wealthy then they are probably married off to some chauvinistic pig with very little control over where they can go, and who they can love. Beauty…..it is so easily destroyed…like a flower under a man’s boot. Dresses are torture devices that curse the female gender, and show domestication. Ezra did not like dresses…. Although, when an entire orphanage chips in to make a woman a dress out of scratch….that said woman can’t exactly say no. Ezra had no intentions of doing this stupid ball, or dressing up in something other than her uniform, but when she had visited the orphanage where she had grown up, where she had donated over half her salary every week, and where she spent her days off reading to the children…..they had presented her with the gift of a gown. The knight may have been a stubborn mule about Dances, but she just couldn’t say no to those kids. So, here the woman wore a sea foam green colored dress with a white frilled apron like style around her torso, garnished with white lace along the edges, and a large, long white bow snugly sitting at her lower back. Under her dress she wore black and white stripped tights with tall black heels…she didn’t really need the extra height, but they matched. Then to top it all off she wore a black ribbon tied in a bow-fashion along the side of her hair. In an odd way she looked…cute…but oh how she hated it. To continue on, Ezra stood in the hall leading to the castle’s royal ballroom, feeling completely uneasy about her attire. She didn’t want to do this, but she made promises she swore she’d keep. The knight groaned, and put on the black masquerade mask she had been holding in her hand. A least no one would know who she was, or she would hope no one would know. Pushing open the giant mahogany door she made her way into the ball room filled with many different people wearing masks. It was slightly congested, but it was said that every prominent person in the kingdom were here. Ezra walked carefully over to the table filled with food, and plenty of wine. It was less crowded, and she needed to get some alcohol in her system if she was going to survive this. She silently picked up a cup, bringing to her lips to take a long sip of the bitter tasting liquid. While doing so she had felt something strange….like she was being watched. The woman flicked her green eyes up at a rather tall man that stood next to her. He was looking down at her, yet the man wasn’t looking at her face at all. Instead the pervert was happily staring down her dress, eyeing her twins like they were coins in a purse. Ez glared up at him, clicking her tongue,” What the hell you looking at, boy? There ain’t anything in there for you.” She snapped, using the heel of her shoe to step down roughly on the man’s foot. She would have just slugged him in side, but starting a fight during an event wasn’t what she had planned this evening. A sound of discomfort came from the gentleman, but she had already grabbed another glass of wine, and began heading towards the balcony to get away. Once she made it out, she closed the glass doors behind her roughly. Now she was just irritated. A heavy sigh left her lips, while she moved to the stone railing to overlook the castle courtyard. A gentle breeze brushed through her green locks, and made her skin bear goosebumps from the chill. Tonight was going to be a long night, yet she had to admit it was pretty to look up, and see the stars scattered across the night sky. For a couple minutes she took the time to relax until she heard the glass door open and close behind her. “Can’t get a single moment to myself in this damn place….” She mumbled to herself,” This balcony is occupied, go away.” Her tone took a higher, threatening note, as she turned around to face whoever had come through the door. He had been away for not three days and now he was forced back. It was that bloody rebels fault, Max. He made Jesu tempt fate, and fate seemed to really fucking hate being tempted. He had mentioned a hydra. Why oh why had he mentioned a hydra. Delving into the swamp-like area and one areas...great. Jesu had no weaponry. Also great. The bloody beast burnt to death with several heads concave from his blows. It was a most interesting and annoying ordeal as the hydra took it upon itself to eat his equipment, like all of it. Cups? Mugs? Money? All of it gone. Great. He stomped through the main gates and silenced the guards smirks with red cold eyes of fury. However luck was still not on his side. It was that flaming fancy dress ball parade evening of rubbish parties. The entire event made so little sense that Jesu could only manage to come up with that very name for it - 'that flaming fancy dress ball parade evening of rubbish parties'. He cleaved a path through the gaherings of people, weaving his way towards the castle. It wasn't difficult. When most people saw Jesu they got out the way, especially when he had the face of a demon like a the moment. Like hell was he going to wear anything like these fools. And that mask crap could go shove its head up it's arse. He was going to the castle, and he was going to get wasted, end of story. Probably pick up some rich heiress...or two. He probably needed two looking at the state he was in. He stormed through the castle to a couple of cries of alarm which were swiftly drowned out by the buzz of the party. He found a flacon of ale which, he presumed, was to serve to share. But it was his flagon now. A man came over looking for a drink, Jesu growled at him, he actually growled. That would have pretty much summed up the rest of the night for him, but it didn't, it got better, a whole hell of a lot better. He was sulking in a corner just minding his own business when he heard a voice he couldn't mistake anywhere, ever. A smile lit of his lips and he muttered to himself. "Time for some tomfoolery ol' chap". He walked over to the women who seemed to be in the middle of shouting at a young man, she then proceeded to stamp on his foot, and fairly hard if Jesu didn't say so himself. She walked out onto the balcony, he watched her go for a second, then continued toward her in hot pursuit. This was going to be a riot. He took a swig of ale from the flagon and looked down at his crouch. "Right lads, you may be about to get a bit of a bruising, I'll protect you as well as I can but...the force is strong with this one". He took another swig and walked out after the women he had seen so often. This could go well if she knew it was him, because that would be funny and she would know it was him in the end. If she didn't realise it was him...the lads wouldn't have fun tonight. He walked through the glass doors that served as the entrance to the balcony. His entire plan failed when she decided to turn around and look at him. No matter. Improvisiom had served him rather well before, it should serve well again. From this angle the shadows covered most of his body, at least enough so that she didn't know who he was. He watched her lips move in speech. Occupied eh? There's room for two here surely? "Really? Too occupied for your secret lover?" Nope he was too weak. The fact that he had said it in a seductive tone has pushed him over the brink. The laughed tumbled out uncontrollably, so he walked into the light and carried on through stifled laughter. "My dear beautiful Ezra, you looking dashing in that...dress...it makes me want to ravish you right here and now.." from then on the laughter took over and he waited to be hit, stamped on, kicked in the balls, or complemented. Though let's face it the last one wasn't all too likely. Jesu took a deep breath and calmed himself down. "I'm sorry, I just had to. What trickery was this? It was quite cowardly for someone to cloak themself when speaking to someone. Although, many assassins tended to use that type of combat now a days; Hiding away before sneaking up right behind their opponents and killing them. Heh, Ezra at least had the decency to equally face her opponent before making them kneel to her sword. There was no honor in sneaking about, stabbing people in the back. The woman squinted, noticing that there was a form hiding within the shadows near a corner, and listened intently as it spoke. Her hands dropped to her thighs, feeling the daggers she had strapped there under her dress. “The only lover I know of is my wine. Show yourself coward.” She spoke clearly, with a threatening edge in her tone. For some reason the voice in the shadows sounded really familiar….likes she’s heard it around the castle or something. Then the mysterious person began laughing, and stepped into the light. Once she saw the man’s face she let out an irritated sigh, moving her hands away from her concealed weapons. It had been Jesu, The heirs super special Guardian…or something. She wasn’t quite sure because he never was with the heir, and always running off to do one thing or another. Although when they were together, they certainly were a perfect match those two, always lifting skirts like it was a sport. She’d imagined half of the chamber maids had been bedded by them already. To think that he was going to be the next in line for king….not that the one that the king they had now was any better. Eh, whatever…sometimes she thought too much into that kind of stuff. The knight gave the Guardian an expression that clearly showed she was not amused, and turned back around. Grasping her wine cup she took another big gulp while he chatted on, laughing himself silly. “ Let me assure you there will be no ravishing tonight. You come one step too close and I’ll be cutting off your Jolly Roger, savvy?” She grumbled back to him, glaring out over the town while she endured his petty teasing. This was why she hated wearing dresses; no one would ever take her seriously. ..Not that Jesu or any other guardians to the royal family did. “Enjoy it while you can, because this will be the last time I’m going to wear this stupid thing.” She didn’t bother turning back to look at him, and she was in no mood to entertain him by getting all upset over his jokes. “Shouldn’t you be stalking the prince instead of trying to flirt with me? Or maybe you should find a nice tavern whore to bed tonight, you know, something in your league…” She sneered at her witty remark, waiting for the young man to get his britches in a bunch. Ezra usually wasn’t vain enough to suggest that she was too good for any man, but in this case she was going to push his buttons enough until he left. [/style]

His mood had dropped suddenly into a melancholy state. It was sad and brooding, and that displeased him, he wanted it to be a fun time today, it was his gallant return from a quest of perilous adventure! Only it wasn't because he'd failed on the second day. Tonight he would forget about that, if only for a while, he would forget about what, he, wanted. He turned and smiled at Ezra. "Ez my dear there are several things wrong with what you have just said. One you look beautiful in that dress, there isn't a star shining out here that could stun a man like me as much as you have right now. Two, any and all women are in my league, I just have to fight hard enough. And finally three, I wasn't flirting." He sighed again and looked back out at the city. He whistled out creating a chain reaction of echoes in different sounds and pitches, it was a strange sound, almost musical, and yet also fairly eerie and disturbing. The party sucked. It was full of aristocratic prats that only wanted their daughters to marry someone of higher, and better blood so as to improve their own social standing. Elitist capitalist pigs. They made him sick. Once Archie was king they wouldn't have that kind of control. If the rebels and the royals fought, Jesu would wait, and watch, and listen, and when the fighting was all done he would emerge with Archie, claim the throne, and bring in an era of equality and prosperity. He breathed a blue particle dragon out into the night. It roared and spewed blue fire into the sky before dissipating into nothingness. He then breathed a heart into the sky. It stood there for a second before he flicked a arrow of the same substance through it. Ordinarily that would have any women straight into his bed. The towns people would have a fun night dancing, singing, and drinking…happily forgetting their woes for just one night. She turned her head slightly as the guardian approached beside her, noting his delighted attitude. “Oh yes. I’m sure you’ll find a pretty lass who will wake up in your bed, and hope that she has found her knight in shining armor only to find out that to him she was just a warm body. How….ravishing…” She retorted in a negative, sarcastic tone. Most women would deny it, but when they found a handsome, high class man willing to sleep with them, they form hopes, and most of the time those hopes were shattered. She had known that feeling personally which is what made her bitter about the concept, but she wasn’t going to inform the boy of that. Her green gaze looked over to him, and even though he smiled she sensed a drop of happiness in his voice. Perhaps she was being too hard on the guardian…he was still in his early twenties after all. She supposed he could blame his hormones for his promiscuous tendencies. Ehhh, damn her inner kindness, damn it to hell! “Forgive me if I depress you…My nature can be…harsh…”She spoke hesitantly and softly for she wasn’t one to dish out apologies. Ezra finished off the last of her wine, and placed it on the stone railing. Maybe she should trying being a little nicer to the lad. Just a little. As he turned to smile at her, the woman tried her best to smile back. But, as soon as he complimented her beauty her smiled faded, and she turned her head down. A warm feeling rose to her cheeks before they turned a bright pink, which she tried her best to hide. Ez really wasn’t a fan on compliments that related to beauty or looks. The knight was known to be manly, and was more than happy to accept that. Yet, when a man called her pretty it was usually sarcastic teasing. Although, she knew Jesu might have been sincere, but she just wasn’t quite sure how to respond. “I don’t believe your words are more than flattery, and I have never seen flattery without the company of flirting.” She responded, still avoiding eye-contact until the blush faded. “Although, I’m sure you could get any girl you wanted, but remember this, lad.” Ezra turned to the boy with a small grin,” A lady is not the target; she is the arrow.” Her tone grew lighter in an attempt to brighten the mood. It was truly good advice, woman shouldn’t be won like trophies like most men seemed to think. Anyway as Jesu attempted more small talk the knight began taking off her heels, only partially listening to what he was saying. “Oh a hydra? Where did you come by a hydra? Oh, nothing but training Im afraid.” She replied before hoisting herself up on the stone railing. The width of the rail was half the size of her forearm so that she was able to safely place her feet on it. “But….” She muttered as she stood upon the railing, stretching her arms out for balance. The stone felt cold through her striped stockings, yet it felt nice. She walked a couple steps before she tuned to speak to him. “Now I can say I walked along the edge of a balcony, teetering between life and death.” Ezra winked at him playfully, showing a rare….drunk side to her. Well, actually she was quite playful after several cups of wine. The knight smiled down at the guardian, and extended a hand out for him to grab. [/style]

Jesu took it as a joke anyway, there was no need to dwell on these things. He was tiring of her sarcastic tone though. "Flattery and flirting? Together? Noooo. There is little chance of that with me. I'm purely admiring your fine physical body, and your sly curves that are all but hidden underneath that lavish dress that you look so good it! Now that, was flattery, no? With no flirting!" He laughed as he teased her, he wanted to change, being the man he was...it just wasn't good enough. Maybe leaving everything would be a good think? He had talked to a rebel for christs sake, told him he would help. He wasn't loyal to the crown, maybe to Archie, and Ezra, and Aria, but...not to the crown. His mood changed and he sighed and looked slightly downcast for a moment, although he built up face and carried on like normal. "A hydra! A found one in the swampy surrounding lands of the nightmare forest. There I was, walking casually along, when BAM, a giant neck swoops out the water. Shortly jointed by three more. Being the man I am I faced it head on. Which is kinda funny because I really shouldn't have. The beast...well...it's kinda embarrassing...but it ate my stuff. Tried to take me with it too. So I punched a hole in its head. Took a mighty great chunk out too. With the heat I create with energy the head couldn't get through the cauterised skin, so I worked my way down and...well now I have a nice present for a beautiful lady. I was saving it for Aria, but you probably deserve it more." The story was true, most of it at least. There was a bit of exaggeration here and there, but nonetheless it was an enthral long story. Jesu took out a tooth the size of his hand from a chain acting as a belt. He placed it near Ezra so she could pick it up and take it, or throw it, or do whatever. This daring women was showing him up by walking the balcony edge. She offered him her hand to get down. Jesu laughed and shook his head.
