APPEARANCE | Standing at approximately 185 centimeters tall and weighing an impressive 79 kilograms, Caeius is far from being a man of small stature. It is by chronological age only that denotes him as the youngest male sibling of the Fabre Family. Secondly, only the birthmark located on his lower back – a blooming chrysanthemum – designates him as a member of the royal line. Aside from that there are few other physical traits to distinguish him as nobility, much to his chagrin. It is almost painfully obvious that the young man was not the product of matrimony but of a clandestine tryst between the king and a scullery maiden that apparently, he bears a striking resemblance to.
Physically speaking, the youngest prince is something of an enigma amongst his siblings and sharply stands out to an almost depressing degree. If it isn’t his slightly overwhelming height, it would be that his complexion is nowhere near as fair as his kin. His skin is a shade darker than even his father but supposedly not anywhere as rich as his mother. Nevertheless the difference is a sore point among many that he must deal with. The shape of his nose and eyes are perhaps the only real traits he shares with the man who helped create him, though the coloring of his eyes was not inherited. His are a confusing mix of red, lightened to a point where they glow of either magenta or saturated pink pigment. His features are angular, some might dare to say effeminate but none will do so to his face. What he lacks is muscle mass he compensates for with agility and dexterity. It’s helpful that he is double-jointed and some of the twists he can perform are cringe worthy. The last aspect of his appearance to touch on is his hair. A tone so dark that it appears black, Caeius has very plain brown locks to contend with the golden shine of the twins or the strange purple of the eldest.
On any given day he can be seen wearing what has become his combat gear and makes him a daunting individual to approach. He favors dark colored clothes with stark contrasts. Ever the one for dramatic flare, trench coats has become popularized by the frequency in which he wears them. The coat that he often wears is sleeveless; high collared and is decoratively assigned buckles down the front. The material of the portion lying over his torso is leather, promoting swift movement with little hindrance or bulk. The long tail of the coat is fabric and offers no protection. Leather shin and armguards with an inner layering of thin metal, protect the joints from damage.
When Palace life becomes too troublesome to cope with, Caeius changes his appearance to match a more flamboyant personality. He dons a blue-green wig and accessorizes with gems and clips, altering himself into the image of a young bard he has dubbed Harpe.
PERSONALITY |[/style][style=padding: 10px; -moz-border-radius: 0px 0px 15px 15px; border-radius: 0px 0px 15px 15px;]
positive
• steadfast – Caeius places a great deal of value in his word thus does not give it lightly and will not be forced to make a commitment he does not support. For all of his misgivings he is a virteous man who believes intensely in moral code. To those who he favors there is no question that he will rise to their defense. Little short of death will keep him from keeping a promise he has made.
• meticulous – nothing that can be hurried can be right, a philosophy that is especially true and shows in his ethics and swordsmanship. Ever striving for a better, brighter tomorrow, anything that Seliane undertakes is done with the utmost care and attention. it is likely his inner perfectionist rearing up but doing something hastily with little preparation does not sit well with him. If he is going to do something he wants it to be his best foot forward so to speak.
• diplomatic – a man of power cannot lead in a world of irrationality if he himself is irrational. It reflects poorly on him and he has enough shame to shoulder without being accused of being a senseless twit. Caeius exercises his intelligence to the fullest extent. Acting evermore with sound judgment and self-possession so that none will have reason to doubt him or his decisions whether they are high born officials or those of the city and below. The council, being lovers of verbal warfare, have inclined him to learn how to read between the lines and flex his knowledge to get what he wants.
• protective – Of what little he knows he laid claim to, Caeius treasures and guards almost religiously. His intention, if that cherished thing is a person, is not to smother or hinder but to guide and act on their behalf.
• warmhearted – even though he can appear cold and indifferent, Caeius isn’t so conditioned to be mistrustful that he is incapable of expressing compassion or affection but it is rather awkward for him to do so. He may get frustrated quickly when trying to be anything other than aloof or sarcastic but typically his fondness and generosity show themselves in the subtle things that he does or the way he acts towards a person.
• astute – while he is guilty of many sins, stupidity is not one of them. Caeius is no mere dog of the military who operates in due recourse as ordered by his betters and is constantly thinking, analyzing and extending his knowledge. He is extremely sensitive to his surroundings despite his pervasive nonchalance and seldom misses detail whether in speech or action.
• pragmatic – Sometimes his emotional detachment is useful, if only in the way of taking an external perspective of tough situations that could either hinder or help a situation. There are decisions that may do more harm internally but will produce better results that he has become willing to do. If they need to tax the citizens to make up for an annual budget he will suggest it, if someone does not pay their property levy because they are poor he will see them evicted.
negative
• Stringent – sometimes it is better to be feared and followed, than to be loved and let down. Caeius has seen time and again, that hand bitten by the dog and does not see himself as deserving of such treatment. So he has become a hard man, a person who is unquestionably strong and intimidating enough that rivals and usurpers would think twice before challenging him or the word of his liege. He tries especially hard to treat all men in the same light as another, making them uphold the same law as the rest of them if he can.
• cynical – due to his rampant insecurities, Caeius fully believes that in order to receive the attention, praise and recognition that he wants, he must offer something in return. That said, no individual he interacts with is seen as a frivolous encounter and expects there to be an ulterior motive. He views everyone with a degree of bitterness from being spurned so often, making him wary and doubtful that people approach him without a measure of self-interest involved.
• passive aggressive – it is unbecoming for a man of his status (albeit a precarious one) to act violently where his subjects or peers can see him. While he may be unable to be openly aggressive against certain people there is nothing stopping him from subtle protesting and ‘accidents’ happening that he cannot be blamed for. He is hardly above sabotage though he will do his misdeeds with discretion and proper planning.
• manipulative – rather self explanatory. He has had to mold himself into the role he plays and thus has also learned how to become whatever the occasion calls for, be it mindless soldier or a political powerhouse.
• blasé – while the passion for his post and people is more apparent when spoken about, Caeius never outwardly appears to be all that concerned with anything. Provocation and peril are typically met with apathy and an obvious form of dispassion. It is a rare occasion to see him be anything other than nonchalant about any given scenario unless it goes strictly against his own principles or would directly harm the kingdom.
• prideful –
• derisive – as eloquent and refined as anyone above his status there is a wolf hiding behind that deferential skin and it often goes hunting. His careful composure holds but his tongue is sharper than his blade and possibly gets more exercise when around those who grate on him. Perhaps a secret sadist he admits to enjoying making others see themselves as he sees them or how they attempt to make him feel about his illegitimacy.
• rancorous – rich is his envy of the royal family and it has poisoned his mind thoroughly over the long years he’s stood beside them but never truly with them. Caeius harbors a deep-seated resentment toward the members of the royal family as well as their affiliated nobles for twisting the knife into his emotions by expressing their scorn or trying to equate him to a privileged dog. He is extremely bitter and sometimes it becomes obvious.
• insecure – as much as he tries to shield himself from the ache Caeius does not have the confidence of a man who takes pride in himself. While he may certainly act the part his will is a thing that has been known to waver, if not outright buckle under confrontation. Having been shunned and called all manners of depreciating names, the youngest prince has little in the ways of self-worth and sometimes can’t bolster himself with his achievements thus making him prone to brief spells of depression.

WEAPON | Truth & Silence // In spite of their differences in appearance the pair of weapons are siblings, forged together with the sole purpose being to compliment the other. Truth is the more ornate of the two with the guard is decorated in pearls and a sapphire stone centered on the pommel. The silver blade is virtually identical to the standard Templar short sword and is significantly shorter than it’s brother blade. Because of the reduced length its reach is limited but swifter, it also comes with its own advantage of being able to utilize his wind magic. So while it can extend its swing it will also take a fraction of the wielders energy to power it.
Silence is majestic, large and unadorned by gems. Its total length is 54cm, long and thin to reduce wind resistance for each swing. It’s more ideal for keeping an enemy at bay or fending off an attack but is slower than its smaller brother. However these blades are to be used in conjunction to one another – not that Caeius doesn’t occasionally use one or the other. They are tailored to his style of fighting (falling swallow) that does it’s focus on speed but compensates for a lack of power by creating a sustainable defense.
WEAPON LEVEL | level 3
SPECIAL ABILITY |
Eye of the Hurricane | By channeling his magic, be it through his body or the weapon Truth – Caeius creates a vacuum of air around himself that encompasses a twenty-foot radius. The magical vortex propels anything that is not anchored down away from it while simultaneously pressurizing anything caught within the sphere. The crushing force can cause lung damage, loss of consciousness, temporary deafness or suffocation; the user is not exempt from this however. Training at high altitudes can lessen the affects of his technique but they cannot be wholly escaped. At maximum it can be held for four posts before the user passes out but it can be cancelled at any time by either disrupting the caster or by the caster himself. It can be used once per thread or risk injury.
Flight of the Hummingbird | This technique allows him to utilize his wind magic and apply it to his body. For the span of five posts, Caeius is able to conjure an aura of wind that allows him to alter his speed and direction. By layering his magic to himself he can sharply change his direction to evade, strengthen an attack, enhance his agility, or float/fly momentarily. However, the taxation of using advanced magic makes it so he cannot use Eye of the Hurricane during and must rest for however many posts it was used (five at most).
ARMOR | level 3 | Standard studded leather coat of which only the torso is actually meant for defense, the long tail being fabric and installed to distract the opponents eyes during combat. Leather arm guards and greaves have a thin layer of metal to reduce damage.

[style=width: 400px; font: 9px verdana; color: #e4be66;text-align:justify; background-color: #a65930]
Not enough can be said about his past and perhaps it is for the best, there are far too many demons in his history for him to confront and he generally pretends nothing is amiss as a means of coping with it. Caeius, in spite of all implications, was never physically abused. He may have occasionally been pushed around by his older siblings or had a scuffle or two with his brothers, but none have specifically raised a hand against him in anger – aside from perhaps one time when he refused to adhere to an instructor or crossed his father. However, while there may have been an absence of bodily trauma, the mental and emotional blows have left their mark on him well enough.[/style]
He had always been an intelligent boy, smarter than was decidedly healthy for him. From a young age he was expressly aware of the differences between himself and his family, be it behavior or appearance. Albeit, he did not know why he didn’t understand it at the time, he always felt a sense of disconnect with the people around him. It worsened as he grew up as with age came further contact with his elder siblings or the father who had never wanted anything to do with him.
There were instances, far too many of them, when his father would hint at his illegitimacy – only when they were in private of course. It was perhaps the best, worst kept secret in the Kingdom and it grated on him as a child because people of all walks of life would whisper around him or avoid eye contact as they gossiped. Worse was any interaction he had with affiliated nobles, they were not so kind as to exercise some modicum of discretion and were very clear in their disdain.
It did not take long for Caeius to understand he was not his mother’s son and almost as if sensing that he knew, he was further shunned. It got to the point when it was no longer hidden, where people ranked above him called him ‘little bastard’ as if it were an endearment. He had no relationship with his father and the one he had with the Queen diminished but was not completely extinguished. He did, and still does, resent her for not telling him herself that he was not her biological child and to that affect has sought out isolation and escape from the bonds of his kin.
Caeius found his life stifling and around the age of twelve began to leave the castle grounds and immersing himself in the plebeians and lower class citizens, finding that he was much more at ease when his title didn’t hang so heavily on his shoulders. It was during that time that he created ‘Harpe’. One might hazard a guess and say that Harpe is his true self with embellishments and in a way this is true, changing his outer appearance allows him to detach from the Fabre family and momentarily escape the pressures of the other nobles without arousing suspicion. He’s also come to find that the new personage allows him to gather information he might otherwise not be privy to if he were his regular self.
At fifteen though his visits to the city become less and less and his seclusion increased, the cause of this being unknown but remedied as he was all but forced into swords training. After working past his defiance and passive aggression, Caeius came to enjoy his lessons and eventually sought out a tutor of his liking who took him on a two year voyage to learn the style. The swords he received upon graduating were forged by his master and are priceless keepsakes.
Upon his return, Caeius had gained some much needed confidence but had also become tight-lipped and closed off, although obedient and still polite. He has since enlisted into the royal army.
