[style=width: 400px; font: 12px open sans condensed;serif; color: #e4be66;text-align:justify; background-color: #a65930]APPEARANCE | Oster was not bequeathed with extraordinary physical gifts. He is but five feet and eleven inches in height and weighs a mere one hundred and sixty five pounds. However, his body's composition reflects the styling of a man whose has known only blood and iron. His broad shoulders and full chest project a very specific machismo. In lieu of his physical statistics, it is plain to any that his anatomy is quite impressive
His hair is blonde and shoulder length, but always restrained in a ponytail. It is rare for any to see his hair dangling freely from his scalp and that is owed to practical reasons. Oster's jaw is perpetually clean shaven and he sports no facial hair. His eyes are not striking, and are of a light blue in color.
He bears a royal mark upon his fair skin, though it is faded and seemingly pale, as his blood is intermingled with the Sisk. The mark sits upon the rear of his right shoulder. Though it is skewed, it faintly resembles a many pointed star, almost as if it were a sunburst.
As is partly due to his heritage, Oster dons garb that strongly ties him to the Sisk. He usually wears a tunic and trousers, loose fitting and crafted of spiderlings' silk. The garments themselves are dyed a deep green with mottled hues of brown and the like throughout. A simple pair of sandals, brown, round out his basic apparel.
PERSONALITY | There are two elements which not only define Oster's personality but also drive him in his pursuits. The first, and most overt, is his absolute hatred of the Fabre Royal Line. While many ascribe his hatred of the royals for baser reasons, none know the truth of why hatred has sprouted so. The second, the anguish that afflicts him due to the circumstances surrounding his lineage. Those who know of Oster describe him as a quiet and even sullen man. There is much truth in this statement, as he broods constantly, treading the fearful line between genius and insanity. Always is secrecy needed in his life, his nobler blood held away from his followers and yet he yearns to proclaim himself rightful ruler. This continual dissension in such a sharp mind causes him to turn only more inward, and withdraw from those around him. His moments of happiness are few and far between and as such, he is quite the reserved individual.
How can one describe such an eternal longing to no longer dwell in shadow? Yet, Oster must shoulder this burden and has none to share it with. He trusts as little as possible and tends to try to micromanage every situation that he is faced with. As such, he rarely delegates authority to those under him and has a tendency to meddle, so he can observe that a task is done sufficiently to his standards. It is maddening to undertake so many responsibilities and his stress will occasionally burst over, like a torrent of water against a frail dam. These outbursts of rage and madness are common more now, than they have ever been.
There are, however, several positive qualities of his personality that typically overshadow his shortcomings. Oster abides by a strict code of morality. He believes strongly in honor and duty; both of which he ascribes to not take lightly. While his hatred for the royals is obvious, he is empathetic to the common people and their struggles. He cares not for race or creed, class or wealth. He takes men and judges them one at a time, not by the group. He is fair and just in most situations, though he may struggle to make the honorable decision in moments of weakness, specifically if it relates to the royal line.
If one were to sum Oster's identity, they may say "Here was a man who carried with him a great sadness that was bound eternal to his soul. An honorable and just man, though fearful when wroth. His tale will be of lamentation and anger, tempered with a righteous cause." [/style][style=padding: 10px; -moz-border-radius: 0px 0px 15px 15px; border-radius: 0px 0px 15px 15px;]

[style=width: 400px; font: 12px open sans condensed;serif; color: #e4be66;text-align:justify; background-color: #a65930]WEAPON | Oster carries only one weapon, his katana, Nulapah (Night's Hand). The weapon had been a family heirloom, passed down from his grandfather, the first of his line that had been denied his birthright. The artisan who crafted the blade originally has been lost to history, though Oster knows the weapon is quite ancient. Only one scrap of information remains concerning Nulapah, and that refers to the place where the dark metal was folded upon itself. Within a small cavern tucked away in the base of the Izak Volcano, here an unknown smith forged this dark blade, somehow managing to wield the mountain's natural furnace for the purpose of the sword.
There are however, other fragments of information worth noting about this weapon, purely for the fact of how it affects Oster. There is a sinister energy imbued in the blade that will slowly corrupt the wielder over the period of hundreds of years, driving them to madness. Part of Oster's own struggles of the mind can be owed, in part at least, to carrying Nulapah as his weapon of choice.
WEAPON LEVEL | Level 3
SPECIAL ABILITY |
Shadow-walk: Channeling the malice imbued in the blade Nulapah, Oster can temporarily slip outside this world's dimension and into the realm of the dead. For those who witness this skill, his physical form dissipates in a cloud of black smoke. This allows Oster to travel unheard and unseen to any around him. When he so chooses, his physical form will reenter the realm of the living.
The longer Oster walks in the shadow realm, the more his mind will be subject to corrupting energies that will drive a mortal mind to insanity. Essentially, each second he spends in shadow, the stronger his madness becomes. While the immediate effects are only temporary, prolonged exposure will quicken his descent into delirium over time.
Oster is also unable to completely perceive living forms in this realm. He can only interpret living beings as some sort of shimmering, ethereal facsimiles of themselves. While each are unique, if there are hundreds of people around him while he shadow-walks, it would be very difficult to tell who each person was.
One should also note that it is impossible for Oster to inflict any physical damage to beings in the living realm while this power is active. While in theory, he could cut down those who had forsaken their bodies for this realm, he is unable to manipulate the living from the realm of the dead.
Nature's Will: Owing to his Sisk ancestry, Oster has some control over his natural surroundings. His powers over nature usually amount to be able to sprout roots and other entangling vines to slow and frustrate his enemy. He has also been capable of raising tree up from the earth to serve as a temporary shield.
Oster's eyes turn a deep green when he is exercising his will over nature. The closer he is to the Vera Tree, the ancestral Sisk home, the greater control he has over nature. Obviously, the opposite occurs when he is far from there. It should be also noted that Oster only has complete control over nature when his mind is unburdened. Therefore, if Oster tried to summon vines after shadow-walking, they would be much weaker than regularly because of the corrupting influence that affected his mind. Quite plainly, the Vera Tree has a calming effect on him, allowing temporary serenity. In a sense, Oster can only control nature a few times before having to return to the Vera Tree to almost "recharge" his capabilities.
Since Oster only has control over things such as vines and trees, they can be easily cut through with any sort of weapon. He uses his control over nature for support purposes only. He has never and in reality does not have great enough control, to issue a massive assault of vines for attacking purposes.
ARMOR | Ringmail, level 3.
Oster's ringmail is light enough to allow for quick movement but offers slightly more protection than leather armor.

This satchel usually contains basic medicinal items, such as bandages and herbs. It also will contain food fit for travel, salted strips of meat and hard biscuits. There is also a small container of mineral/clove oil for the purpose of weapon upkeep.
Nothing else of note, save for Nupalah's sheath, which is nothing impressive. It's material is wrought from the woods surrounding the Sisk homeland and it bears no markings.[/style]

[style=width: 400px; font: 12px open sans condensed;serif; color: #e4be66;text-align:justify; background-color: #a65930]
And so here begins again a tale of crowns and coronets, falsely bequeathed to others, while our poorest heir must dwell in the shadow of his promised realm...
Oster was born of ignoble beginnings within the hallowed Vera Tree, deep within the Sisk realm. His grandfather, who has since faded from history was once true heir to the throne, though through malicious intrigue at court and uncontrollable circumstances he fled, abandoning his birthright in the hopes of later reconquest. His son was born amongst the Sisk, and that man's son was Oster. Though his royal blood may be muddled, the mark still remains, and his destiny must still lie before him.
His youth was tragic. A fearful pox swept down upon the Sisk domain, blighting the land and afflicting its denizens. Oster's mother, a Sisk femme, and his father suffered from this unknown malady and passed quickly. The intensity of the sickness was unheard of, yet Oster was naught but attentive in his family's dying days. Faint whispers of a dying father imparted both the secret and truth of his origin. The last actions of an enfeebled man would soon come to alter the realm.
Placed under the direct care of the Sisk Council, Oster's father left him nothing material save for Nupalah, the Hand of Night, the ancient and malevolent blade which Oster's own grandfather fled from Skara with many years ago. The madness, unknown to any that wielded the fell-blade, first began to creep into his soul. His actions became erratic, his judgment erroneous, and the council feared for his very soul. The weight of his line burdened him, weighed upon him with such an immensity that none would wish to bear it.
Perhaps as a byproduct of this partial insanity, Oster thus structured an invariably complex system of moral laws that he strictly abides. Since his twentieth birthday, he has lived his life with his own personal sense of honor. These precepts of his are stark in comparison to his madness. Many would label him as bipolar, though his mania ranges each day.
Dissent from the local populaces with the Fabre Line and an influx of various outlanders into the realm presented Oster with an opportunity. While perhaps not possessing the boisterous megalomania that some leaders exhibit, his silent charisma drew followers to him. Despite his attempts to keep these supporters at an arm's length, fate intervened, and it seemed that he was now the chief figurehead in this rebellion. If Oster was to ever recover his birthright and oust these pretenders, he would need these people that flocked to him now.
Now he but bides his time, resolving to strike for the crown when the moment is ripe.
